Waiting

My truck stopped along a back road
On the way away
Climbing up a steep grade heaving to the side
To the side
Engine overheating so I pulled off
To the side

Ain’t no shop around for miles
So I’m stuck out here alone
Just the buzzards here for company
While I die
It’s a crap machine I got when my old man died

Too many miles
He put on this thing And on himself
Now walks free of it!
Too many miles
On this crap machine he left me
Too many miles
Now I gotta sit and think, take a drink
I toast the vultures
Too many miles
It’s way too far too far for me to walk
I believe that there’s a time for each to die
That’s all right!

No one hardly ever comes out this far
I may last in this desert a few days
Here it’s quit – I can hear my thoughts walk
Sit and think, take a drink

I go back to times of nothing breaking down

Follow my thoughts walking, back to
Back to easy days
Times I almost had forgotten
Times we were alive
If someone comes this way I will thank him for my life

Too many miles
It’s a crap machine I got when my
Old man died
Too many miles
He put on this thing, then died
Too many miles
Put on this crap machine he left for me
Now look at it
Too many miles
Now I gotta sit, think and take a long drink
I believe that there’s a time for each to die
Yeah,that’s all right!..........

I raise a toast now to the vultures
Wait forever
I gotta wait until I die
I gotta wait until my time comes
Wait forever
I gotta wait until I die
I gotta wait until my time comes
Wait forever
I gotta wait until I die
I gotta wait until my time comes
Wait forever
I gotta wait until I die…………….
